FA Cup Progress And Matches So Far
Posted by footballfever in fm on January 1, 2012
Another thrilling match against Aldershot. Our team tried our best. I rested many key players for the previous game against Stalybridge.
I have already played 2 matches in the BSS since my last post. We lost to Blyth in a very strange way.
We have dominated most of the possession and had most of the shots but we still failed to hit the net. One problem is because of my players not having good aerial skills. Since, most of my signings I bought was very speedy players to suit the formation, I forgot to logically think. As you can see in the crosses completed, we dominated them, the problem is the crosses just get headed away by their defenders.
So, in the transfer window which is coming up, I will try to find another 1 or 2 players who have good aerial skills.
Anyway, the next match was against Stalybridge.
In this match I rested most of my key players.I rested almost the whole squad and called up the reserves and U-18’s. Also, I am going to keep some U-18’s and reserves as sub since I have got more injured players. I also wanted to show you the U-18 and reserve players that I consider to be very high potential.
Look at his attributes, they are developing very high. And don’t mind the wording Patrick Fienley, its just simple editing. I called him up for the match against Aldershot as Neil Cartwright, my sub got very tired so I had to rest him.
I also used him in the Aldershot match, he has very high aerial skills but he will be sent back to U-18 because I already have my 3 defenders.
He is also very good but he might be sent back unless he can be a sub.
Now I want to tell you the line-up I have been using for the Aldershot match.
I used Phil Younghusband in my starting line-up to replace Danny Carey-Bertram. This is because I decided that Danny needs some time to get back from the injury. And, the condition of the players are actually higher but this is after the match. Also, I changed the strategy from Standard to Defensive as they were controlling most of the possession.
Once I substituted my striker, Phil for Danny, Danny made a goal 10 minutes later, so now I will probably rotate my 3 strikers together. I have dropped Eddie Adjei due to bad performances. He also requested to be transfer listed and that really surprised me as he is the leading goal scorer in the reserves.
Aldershot controlled possession in the first half, we didn’t even stand a chance. But after O’Connor’s goal, everyone seemed to get a big morale boost. We started banging shots in,we pumped the ball in the box as I instructed since my players are fast. Although we missed a lot of chances. We also conceded many corners and my team is not good in corners because of our aerial skills. Also, we are the lowest average height in the BSS ![]()
Aldershot had a penalty denied and if they did get the penalty, this might be the end of the FA Cup for my team.
So, that’s all for this post. My next match will be against Altrincham. Hopefully, we could get a good result…..
Worcester 3-3 Droylsden
Posted by footballfever in fm on December 29, 2011
It’s a unfortunate draw for us but it was a thrilling match. Our team was very good and Phil Younghusband showed up in the scoreboard once again. I also changed my tactic before half-time when they were leading 2-0.That immediately put us back on track from an own goal by their keeper. After half-time, I substituted my striker, Eddie Adjei for Phil Younghusband who at the 62nd minute scored another goal. Then, immediately their striker put them ahead 3-2. Then my captain Stevland Angus played his first match for us and he scored a rebound by Frank Sinclair’s header.
As you guys can see from a statistical point of view, we had a lot of chances and I thought we had a chance to go ahead.
Despite the negatives, we also set another record for longest never lose streak.
And my next match will be against Blyth who are in 7th place.
Considering the facts, we need to win that match to be on track with my personal expectations which is reach playoffs.
Worcester 8-1 Kettering: FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round.

A fantastic match against Kettering, the team that was expected by media to beat us.
Its our best victory in this season for now. Phil Younghusband replaced injured Danny-Carey Bertram and scored the goal at 15 minutes. We had 3 penalties to score and all were taken by Frank Sinclair who got his hat trick. When Phil Younghusband got fouled his condition went to 62 and then I knew he wouldn’t be able to recover from it so I subbed Eddie Adjei for him and then he later scored. But the best goal was from Abalimba who shot from 25 yards and it bounced of the post.
We also set the record for the highest scoring game.
Statistical report shows we have almost dominated their possession and we had a lot of chances.
Our next match in the FA Cup 1st Round will be tough as I think the draw will be with a npower league 1 side. So our chances are very minimal, but with the players who I bought are potentially good as npower league 2 sides. Such players are Nikki Ahamed,Tommy Amos,Tommy Taylor and Medi Abalimba. So we still have a chance to go further.
My current next match will be the fixture against Droylsden.
I will post any results I consider to be interesting and the matches that we can learn something from it.
I will definitely post about the FA Cup and the process soon. Until then, see you soon!! ![]()
3 key players injured.
Posted by footballfever in fm on December 28, 2011
Our match against Eastwood Town ended in 1-1 draw. We were leading immediately after half-time when their team scored in the 78th minute. Reasons or cause to these failure are due to injury of my key players.
Danny Carey-Bertram got injured very early in the game(before half-time). 2 weeks will be okay.He will be replaced by either Phil Younghusband or Eddie Adjei.
Simon Brown, my main right winger also got injured in the process, this will be a long injury, he will miss at least 4-5 games.
Ryan Connor, my best player so far also got injured during this match.
It will be very difficult playing without my key players. And furthermore, we will face Kettering(BSP side) in the FA Cup 4th qualifying round. But I think we still can beat Kettering in the 4th round and advanced to the next level. See you soon guys ![]()
Back Amazingly!!!!!!!
Posted by footballfever in fm on December 24, 2011
Hey guys, I am back amazingly!!… not that I am fully recovered, but my hands have all healed up perfectly (almost). Well, my nose is still in bad condition, but that didn’t stop me from playing the best game in Football, FOOTBALL MANAGER.
Anyway, I wanted to tell you about my highest win yet !!
Yes, the five star victory against Salford during the FA Cup. Tommy Taylor was on fire today, in fact.. all my players was motivated and looked fired-up today. This was also due to my pep talks at half-time saying “I have faith in you”.
Based on the stats, I actually think we deserved more goals. We had more possession as usual but our shots kept getting wide or blocked by the keeper. When Nigel Gray got sent off, I knew we could do it.
Tommy Taylor was actually lucky he got that penalty, my penalty taker got subbed and Tommy Taylor was the one who was fouled so he took it.
Injured And Sick.

Hello guys, I am sorry for the delay, but I have bad news for you guys….. I am injured. It happened on Monday when I was playing my bicycle when I fell and fractured my nose. I was rushed to the hospital and got 15 stitches on my nose. My hands were all bruised up. So, I can’t barely write anything on the computer. It will take me at least 2 – 3 weeks for everything to recover. Until then…, please hope for my speedy recovery.
